Serving Those Who Serve

Every day the men and women in the military generously serve our country at home and abroad.

Their families also make sacrifices, juggling family responsibilities so that their spouses, children, and grandchildren are able to do the difficult and often dangerous work of protecting our freedom. Both the service men and women and their families need our spiritual and moral support. That is where all of us can help—the Partners family.

Because of your gifts and your prayers, Partners is now able to send copies of The Word Among Us to more than 27,500 of our brothers and sisters in Christ in military service every month. Thank you for remembering them and sharing the love of Christ with them, even as they serve us.

Their response to the gift of has been overwhelming. One young sailor, Michael, was so moved by reading while deployed that he emailed us to say this: “Your long-awaited magazines and books are very helpful to me and to our Catholic community on board! I want to enroll in RCIA and convert as soon as we get back stateside.” In the midst of global unrest, the light of Jesus Christ shines brightly among our brothers and sisters in the armed forces.

What you may not know is that these same service men and women who receive through Partners also donate to Partners, blessing others with the gifts so generously given to them. Many bases send in donations to help Partners send to other military units who are on our waiting list. The military chaplains at the Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek, Virginia Beach, recently wrote to us, “We wish to send the enclosed donation in furtherance of the ministry of Our Lord Jesus Christ through Military Ministry. Words alone cannot express our gratitude for your caring support and ministry to our military and others in need.”

We at Partners are honored to support these brave men and women who serve and give so freely. Let’s pray together for our brothers and sisters in the military, for their safety, and for spiritual and physical strength as they serve our nation.
